Best Fence’s Beginnings

Mike Grubbs began his professional career as a real estate investor. He started adding fences to a few properties, which boosted his sales, and before he knew it, he had fenced over 200 homes in nine years. Increasing curb appeal and property value to homes with quality fences was a trend that was not going away, so Mike decided to transition into the fencing business.

Grubbs founded Best Fence Company of Jacksonville in 1996 with only three employees, one truck and one crew to install fences. Driven by his passion for delivering quality fencing services to residents across Northeast Florida, Best Fence now has over 25 employees and six installation crews. Mike’s early investment paid off and turned aluminum and vinyl fencing into the most popular fence styles across our developing region. Mike has built Best Fence into one of the largest fence companies in Northeast Florida.

As the CEO of Best Fence, Mike Grubbs is very hands on and works to guarantee his customers are 100 percent satisfied with their custom fences. He personally meets with HOA boards and consults with them on many projects from the aesthetics of the community to which fence style would meet community regulations.

“Since we manufacture our own fences, we’re able to customize fences in a way that’s been unheard of in the industry.” Mike recalls a particular decade-old fence to showcase Best Fence’s customization talents. “We can pull up a fence from 15 years ago, and in our computer, we can fabricate it in the same way it was 15 years ago, and no one can tell where the new fence has been added.” Best fence offers customers longevity and weather resistance warranties with their fences.
